Why Mount Washington is different
Mount Washington sits in Kentucky's Knobs region, where the rolling hills run down into river floodplain, and it has been one of Bullitt County's fastest growing communities since Interstate 65 opened in the 1950s and put Louisville within an easy commute. That mix shows up on the houses: newer vinyl and fiber cement siding on hillside lots, and enough humidity coming off the low ground to put a green film on the shaded walls within a couple of seasons.
