If it is alive
Algae, mildew, moss and lichen have to be killed at the root. Knocking the top off with pressure leaves the anchored part behind and it returns within a season.
Soft wash. Low pressure, cleaning solution.
If it is ground in
Oil spotting, tire marking, traffic film and mud are not organisms. Force plus a degreaser is the right tool, and the line it leaves is the whole point.
Real pressure. Force and a degreaser.
Most houses need both on the same visit. Showing up is the expensive part, so the second and third service cost far less to deliver than the first. That is why the bundle discount exists, and why a clean roof above a striped gutter line and a green driveway is the most common half finished job we get called out to fix.
The order
Roof
Highest surface, so everything it sheds falls onto what is below.
Walls
Siding catches what came off the roof, plus its own algae.
Gutters
The outer face streaks last, once the wall above it is clean.
Flatwork
Driveways and walkways collect all of it, so they go last.
If you are only booking one thing this does not matter. If you are booking three, doing them in the wrong order means paying to clean the driveway twice.

We will tell you before we start when cleaning is not going to fix what you are actually looking at. Damage that was there before we arrived will still be visible afterwards, and knowing that in advance is worth more than a surprise on the day.
