Why Shepherdsville is different
Shepherdsville sits on the Salt River, and the river is the reason exterior cleaning here is not routine. In April 2025 the Salt rose more than 33 feet in four days, crested, and put water through downtown, with over a hundred people rescued across Bullitt County. Water that high leaves a silt line on siding, fences and flatwork that does not rinse off with a garden hose, and it leaves the shaded side of a house holding moisture long after the water is gone.
